Declaration by CEO

The teacher-student ratio range from 1:2 to 1:3, and there are 8 well-equipped classrooms holding 6 to 12 students each as well as 5 additional special rooms. The number of full-time teachers currently registered with MOE Singapore is 7 and there are a total 11 teachers assistants including a job coach.

Our Principal is Mr. Prakalathan Kelaver who has more than 18 years experience, trained in America and graduated with a Masters in Special Education from University of Central Oklahoma USA . He is supported by his faculty of all full-time employed, well- trained, passionate and professional teachers.

They include Ms Suchitra Khara, who is our Vice-Principal. She teaches our pre-vocational curriculum and has more than 15 years experience, and possesses a bachelor’s degree in education from University of Bombay India –Educational Psychology and English literature and B.A honours from University of Punjab India in Psychology, Literature and Mathematics.

Ms Leowelda O. Beja is part of our talented pool of foreign teachers. She possesses a Diploma in Special Education from the University of Mindanao science and technology, and has completed 2/3 of her Masters degree in Special Education. She will re-embark on her educational journey when she has settled down in Singapore. She teaches our senior curriculum. 

Ms Olivia Giam Swee Chin, one of the most promising teachers, who started
her career as a teacher assistant then team teacher and finally a full fledged
teacher has shown great initiative and dedication working her way up over
the last 6 years in the special needs industry. She is a double degree graduate, having attained her first degree in 2002 and has just completed her bachelors programme from Flinders University with a degree in Education majoring in Special Education.

Ms Viemala Davie Kelaver, a teacher with 6-10 years experience possesses a Diploma in Special Education with credit from National Institute Of Education Singapore, a Bachelor of Science in Social Science (Child Psychology and Educational Psychology from Colorado State University USA, as well as attained a Certificate in Autism with distinction. She also possesses certification in TEACCH, Sensory Integration and Autism, and attended the Autism Best Practices Conference in 2000. She teaches our junior curriculum.

Ms Julliezavie Tuzon Chu, our newest teacher, possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education majoring in Special Education from the University of the Philippines and graduated cum laude, and was also awarded with academic excellence accolades. She teaches our kindergarten curriculum and has 3 years teaching experience.

Mr Gerardo Arita Ramirez possesses a Masters degree in education, majoring
in special education. His strengths are in behaviour management, classroom
management and has great interaction with his students. He also maintains very open and regular channels of communication with parents, availing them with their progress consistently and comprehensively. He teaches our vocational curriculum. 

We have 1 speech therapy rooms, 1 occupational therapy room, 1 assisted daily living room, which also serves as our music room.

On staff, we have 1 full time speech therapist, 1 full time occupational therapist and we are supported also by a network of speech and occupational clinics who provide us with additional assistance when required.

Our 10,000sqf campus is surrounded by lush foliage and large areas of verdant grass compound.

We also have 2 non-academic external instructors who come regularly on a part-time basis, to conduct the schools’ art and music therapy programme

Our academic board comprise 3 member made up of the Principal (Mr. Prakalathan Kelaver, the Vice-Principal (Ms Suchitra Khara) and Mr. Kelvin Ng, the schools director who possesses a Bachelors Degree in Business from Monash University Australia. The same members also make up the examination board.

Our list of managers comprise 2 members made up of Mr. Prakalathan Kelaver, the school Principal, and Mr. Kelvin Ng, the school director.

Our students’ benefit and welfare are of paramount importance to Saint Claire, and we have the following mechanisms in place:

• clear fee policies
• well-defined student redress practices and systems
• well-trained personnel

Our administrative personnel are well-trained to answer our students’ queries and assist our students in time of need.
